Rosado Marie

Azul Marie

Naranja Marie

So much of my work deals with identity & location. The concept of it. The absence of it. The importance of it. In a creative way I plan to further explore identity & location by creating 3 characters. 🎨 🍊 🌊  Using my Polaroid camera I plan to photograph myself as these 3 characters in specific situations for the next year. (My golden year. #23) I plan to complete this project over the next year finishing on my 24th birthday.

(Pink) 🎨  Rosado Marie. Is inspired by my career choice in life. My passion for art & art education will shine through her. I plan to photograph her in her natural artsy habitat. Showing the honest moments of being a maker. .

After being in Tallahassee for about 5 years, I've come to appreciate our green environment. (Orange) 🍊  Naranja Marie. Represents North Florida's environment. Using her to explore tallahassee & find epic outdoor locations to photograph her orange vibe against the green from the trees. .
.
.
(Blue) 🌊  Azul Marie. She has existed in my head for as long as I can remember. My love for the sea is clear when you see her long blue hair. She represents the beautiful open ocean & creatures who inhabit it. Believing in the magic of mermaids, I plan to venture around & find places for Azul to temporarily remember her home, the sea. #landlockedmermaid.

Along with the chance to explore identity & location I get to play dress up again. A concept that is lost when entering your adult years. Creating these characters allows me to represent each identity & location separately. 🎨 Rosado, 🍊 Naranja, & 🌊 Azul Marie are all parts of me. Through this project, I want to learn more about myself & my environments by playing dress up at age #23
